How do I collect my hire bike?

Bikes are collected from Idris Stores / Creature Cycles, Bridge Street, Corris, Machynlleth, SY20 9SP.

We offer two collection options:

  • Morning of hire — from 9am
  • Night before pick-up — collect the evening before for an early start the next day

If you’re riding at Dyfi Bike Park, we recommend a 9am collection (or night-before pick-up) so you have time to sign in for the first lift at 10am.

Where can I ride near Corris?

Corris sits at the centre of one of the densest mountain bike trail networks in the UK.

  • Dyfi Bike Park — 5 minutes drive (3 miles). Lift-served downhill and freeride trails built by Dan Atherton
  • Local off-piste enduro trails — accessible directly from the village. Hundreds of kilometres of natural slate-and-root descents through the Dyfi Forest. Come in to the shop or drop us a line and we’ll point you in the right direction.
  • Caersws Bike Park — local lift-assisted downhill and enduro tracks.
  • Antur Stiniog — 50 minutes drive. Wales’ oldest uplift downhill park.
  • Revolution Bike Park — 1 hour 15 minutes drive (Llangynog).
  • Coed y Brenin — 45 minutes drive. Trail centre with everything from beginner blue to expert black.
  • ClimachX, Mach 1/2/3 — local cross-country routes from Corris and Machynlleth.

For trail data, check Trailforks and the Dyfi MTB local guide. For guiding or coaching, Dyfi Valley Guides (Corris) and Wheelism (Abergynolwyn) are both excellent.

Safety requirements

Riding at Dyfi Bike Park: a full-face helmet and knee pads are required. We have a range of full-face helmets and kneepads available for hire. Book online or when collecting your bike – subject to availability and size.

Age restriction: no unaccompanied riders under the age of 16. Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

eBike restriction: Hired electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs) may not be taken to uplift or lift-served bike parks, including Dyfi Bike Park, Antur Stiniog, Revolution Bike Park and Caersws Bike Park. Hired e-MTBs are for trail, enduro and cross-country use only. Riders found to have used a hired eBike at an uplift facility will be considered in breach of hire conditions.

We strongly recommend bringing your own helmet and pads — the Dyfi terrain is steep, rocky and unforgiving. Gloves and elbow pads are also advisable for downhill riding.

Damage waiver

Damage waiver is included in all hire bookings and covers accidental damage to the bike during your hire period. Consumables (tyres, cables, brake pads) are also covered.

For full hire terms and cancellation policy, see our Hire Terms & Conditions.
